Attorney Rachel Hersh Van Wormer, the founder of Van Wormer Law, LLC, is an experienced attorney who concentrates her practice in all aspects of immigration law. Prior to opening her own practice as a DC immigration lawyer, she practiced at VK Vandaveer, PLLC, where she also focused on immigration law. She earned a degree in law from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she was a James Monroe Scholar.

International Travels and Experience

Ms. Van Wormer has a background in international law and international relations. She has lived and studied in Krakow, Poland, and Rome, Italy. While in Krakow, she took part in the Jagellonian University’s International Business and Trade Law Program as a recipient of the Kosciuszko Foundation Scholarship for Academic Excellence. While in Rome, she spent her time mastering the Italian language and studying Italian history, art, and architecture.

Bar Admissions and Memberships

Rachel is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the American Bar Association (ABA), and the Virginia Bar Association (VBA). She also serves as co-chairperson of the Immigration Law Forum of the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
